J. Patrick Thornton ll is a 30-year commercial real estate industry veteran representing large users of office and industrial space in a wide array of real estate transactions. A principled broker known for his extensive market knowledge and unmatched commitment to his clients, Patrick has built a solid foundation of corporate clients through his leasing and advisory services. He works diligently on behalf of his clients and always offers candid advice. The breadth and depth of Patrick’s experience negotiating hundreds of leases ranging from 1,000 to over 100,000 square feet gives him an ability to truly understand the distinct needs of each client no matter how large or small.

As Principal of Brokerage for NAI Hallmark, Patrick has an extensive record of guiding local and national clients with their commercial real estate acquisitions, lease obligation, asset reposition, and dispositions. His specialties include strategic planning, asset management, space utilization, and financial structuring.

Patrick Thornton began his three-decade career with Southeast Bank as a Commercial Loan Officer, responsible for the management of real estate loan portfolios including the origination and monitoring of construction progress and funding draw requests for real estate loans. Finding a passion for real estate and a knack for negotiations, Patrick joined Faison Associates as a Leasing Representative in 1990. During his tenure with Faison, he leased approximately 150,000 square feet and coordinated the marketing and leasing of 430,000 square feet of office and industrial space.

In 1993, Patrick joined the real estate department at GATX Logistics Inc. as a Property Manager, where he assisted in the management and leasing of 136 facilities, consisting of approximately 23,000,000 square feet. In December of 1993, Patrick joined Phoenix Realty Group as a Leasing Specialist focusing primarily on the suburban office market where he leased over 300,000 square feet of office and industrial space.

Patrick joined the Hallmark team in November of 1996 and quickly established himself as a critical contributor to the company’s success. Over the course of his 24-years with Hallmark, Patrick has leased over 1 million square feet of office and industrial space and continues to actively mentor junior associates joining the firm.

Patrick’s contribution to the fabric of the Jacksonville community transcends his involvement in the commercial real estate world. He is long known for the impact he has had in decades of involvement as a youth basketball coach and a key figure in the Assumption Parish, where he has served as past School Board President and is the current Chair of the Finance & Development Committee for Assumption Catholic School.
